Peter Wallmueller
Peter Wallmueller
Welcome! I am a fifth-year PhD Candidate in Decision Sciences at INSEAD. Across three streams, my research investigates how social interactions and language shape judgment and decision-making in groups and organizations.
In my first stream, I investigate the harmful effects of overconfidence and underconfidence in groups and organizations, and how social dynamics contribute to their persistence. In my second stream, I investigate what drives meaningful social connections among groups of strangers. In a third stream of research, I study how language influences decision-making under risk using Large Language Models.
I am on the 2026-2027 Academic Job Market.
You can find my CV here.
I received a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, as well as a B.A. in Economics and Management from the University of Lucerne in Switzerland.
